OOTD: NEON CORAL

Hello!

Thought I'd show a quick outfit post today of something I wore this week featuring two new pieces that I'm totally in love with.
I mentioned about buying this top on this post. Very bright and very far away from my usual palette of black and dark colours.

OOTD: MINT + GREY

I very rarely do an outfit post and then all of a sudden there's two in a row! I had a couple holiday days left to take at work so I booked off the start of the week (which was an excellent decision! No Monday Blues over here.) I recently picked up these leggings/treggings/whatever letter you want to put in front of 'eggings' and I actually love them. It turned out to be a hell of a lot warmer than it seemed when I went outside so I have since ended up in a tee!

OOTD: SPRING IS COMING

Yesterday I went to Manchester with my friends where we went to a World Buffet called Peachy Keens (which was delicious!) and then we headed to the arena to see Jack Whitehall. I think it was about the 5th time I've seen him since 2009 and he was as hilarious as ever.

OOTD - MINT & PINK

Today I nipped in to town to pick up a few things I needed and ended up falling in love with the new Body Shop Hair Chalks. My friend Rachelle tried them out on me and I wish I bought them both but I walked away with the pink one. I'm clearly going to end up going back for the blue one.
I also wore out my new Boohoo jumper and boots as well as wearing a pair of jeans by my own choice and I actually love them! CRAZY.

OOTD: MORE FLUFFY THINGS

Smock dress; Topshop | Cardigan; New Look | Nails; "Punk Rock" Kate Moss x Rimmel

I have wanted one of the fluffy cardigans that are doing the rounds for a while now and this morning when I went to get dressed I realised I don't own a black cardigan..! How did that happen? I popped in to New Look when I nipped into town and saw this. It's incredibly similar to the Primark ones that are like a tenner but there's no Primark in town and I just instantly fell in love with how soft and cosy this is so I skipped over to the till with it and I don't think I'll be taking it off for a while.
I probably should have took photos minus the cardigan so you could see the dress but I am a total fail. I'm really into smock dresses at the moment and I was in the Trafford Centre on Wednesday night and spied this one on a mannequin. I found it on the rails and didn't even think twice about it. Complete impulse buy but I love it. It's quite thick jersey material and really over-sized so works perfectly for the time of year and team with the cardigan. Here's the link to it to see it better.

And on my face today...

OOTD: IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!

Ooh well an outfit post isn't something that's very prevalent on Laddered Tights. However, I really loved my outfit today and managed to grab a bit of daylight during my lunch hour.

Jumper; F&F @ Tesco | Skirt; Local shop | Boots; New Look

I have seen fluffy jumpers EVERYWHERE this winter and I was dying to get my hands on the softest I could find. Tesco came up trumps with this one. I think it was only about £16 too! They also had a pale pink one but I chose this and I bloody love it! It is so cosy and warm and goes with everything.
Today I wore it with my leather look skater skirt (there's an only slightly better photo of me wearign it in the sidebar) which I bought about a year ago and have hardly ever worn it. I feel like it's too dressy for the day time but I put it on with the jumper today and loved it. Then teamed up with the New Look cut out boots, that I'm absolutely obsessed with and wearing to death.
Also, if you haven't tried the Primark Super Cosy tights then you absolutely must! They have a fleece lining (I know, right!) and they have been life savers since the temperatures have dropped recently.

And a quick "what's on my face?"...

MUSTARD

Long time no blog, even by my standards! I had an amazing time up in Edinburgh at the start of the month. That place is definitely my happy place. But whilst I was there and since I've been home I've been feeling a bit poorly and just generally not in the mood to put anything on here.
Before I went away I posted a wishlist and as soon as I posted that, I was at the checkout on the Topshop website and bought the mustard coloured blouse. I love it! the colour and the detailing is beautiful and I've been wearing it quite a bit for work since.

Blouse; Topshop | Skirt; Topshop | Nails; Rimmel x Kate Moss Salon Pro 'Hip Hop'

I gave up trying to get photos better than that. Also, I took these yesterday and have only just now looked at them. My bad. I do not get along well with my camera and outfit posts.

I've been wearing the blouse tucked into my black skater skirt and just wearing plain black flats for work. The detailing on the shirt is completely cut out so it can be a little chilly..! But the panels down the front are in good places so there isn't too much bra on show to the world.

Like I said, I took these yesterday so I am going to try and remember what I put on my face...

GOSH Velvet Touch Primer
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation '51 Light Vanilla'
Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer 'Light'
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder 'Transparent'
Benefit Brow-zings 'Dark'
Seventeen Tattoo Me Semi Permanent Liquid Eyeliner
Avon Infinitize Mascara
Avon Lipstick 'Coral Connection'
Sleek Blush 'Dolly Mix'

The eyeliner is a very new addition to my make up collection and when I took this it was the first time I had tried it. I wasn't sure what I thought then but I tried it again today and I do like it better and people have commented on it so may review it soon, if anyone would like to read that?

I AM THE EGG MAN

I popped into town yesterday and bought a new tee that I've been wearing today so I think it's time for a little outfit post.

Tee; Primark | Skirt; Miss Selfridge | Necklace; Primark | Boots; Matalan | Nails; Rimmel x Kate Moss Salon Pro 'Hip Hop' + Barry M Confetti 'Dolly Mixture'

I got a new desk for my room that takes up much less space so I don't need to stand on my bed to take outfit photos anymore. I mean, There's still not enough room to fit my whole body in, but still!

This top was £8 and I already have like 3 other tops with The Beatles on but I just love them! Especially when it's as sunny as it is, I love nothing more than listening to them in the car and having a good sing a long. I tucked it in to my denim style skater skirt and I still can't believe it's suitable weather to go no tights! Mental!
I've been after a chain necklace like this for ages and this one is pretty cheap looking in person, especially when you feel it, and in hindsight paying £3 for it seems a bit too much but I like the touch it gives to the outfit.
I picked the boots up from the Matalan sale for £10 from £22! I don't know what it is about them I fell in love with but I knew as soon as I spotted them that they were coming back home with me. They're are quite wide around the ankle but they're super comfy.
And today's nails... when the Kate Moss Salon Pro nail polishes came out on the Rimmel stands I picked up two of the shade and since then I saw so many posts about the shade Hip Hop and yesterday I caved and bought it. It's kind of an orangey-red but definitely more on the red side. And I put a coat of the Barry M Confetti polish on top. I've been wanting to try this since it came out but I heard mixed reviews. Superdrug had 3 for 2 on across all nail polishes so that one ended up being free but I really like it! It's different and a great effect.

OOTD: WORKING GIRL

Well it has been a while since I last did an outfit post and I recently bought a new dress that I wore today so what better opportunity to rectify that.
To be honest, I think the main reason for lack of outfit posts is that I just haven't really been buying clothes that much. However, I popped into New Look at the weekend and fell in love with a dress. New Look isn't somewhere I usually shop. I feel like their target audience is very teenage and usually none of their clothes appeal to me but I spied this dress in one of the concession ranges they stock.

Dress; Tenki @ New Look | Shoes; Primark | Rings; Dorothy Perkins & River Island | Nails; Ciaté

The weather lately has been so hot that I've been stepping way out of my comfort zone and ditching the tights and the knitwear however, when I got out of bed this morning the weather seemed to have remembered that it's in England and the tights needed bringing back out.
The dress then..! I went through a phase (like pretty much everyone) of buying everything and anything with a collar, particularly a Peter Pan collar, but I don't appear to actually own anything anymore with one on. The colour hasn't really translated well on camera but it's a lilac-grey sort of colour and it isn't really as shimmery as it seems. It does have a little which is the underneath lining. It's just so cute! It did come with a belt that went around the waist and had a bow at the front fastening however, it was navy which really confused me. It really didn't match the dress and everyone knows navy and black is a thing that shouldn't happen!
I've worn this today with just a plain black blazer for work. I just wear my flat Primark shoes that I absolutely love! They're sort of lattice design and they're actually really comfy. I pretty much wear them everyday and they were only about £8!
I got the finger top rings from River Island for £2! I originally wanted the criss cross ones that everyone and their cat have but I tried about 6 different stores and the Internet and couldn't get y hands on them. I do really like these ones though. The gold bands are a pack of four from Dorothy Perkins and cost £5. Really simple but really effective.
And the nail varnish is the Ciaté one I received in this months Glossybox. It's a lovely dark nude and I was really impressed with the pigmentation of it to.

My fringe did not behave at all today and I ended up rushing this morning trying to do it and made matters worse so I've been a bit gappy-fringed all day.
On my face today, though, is...:

Nivea Express Hydration Primer
GOSH Velvet Touch Primer
No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation 'Calico'
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer 'Ivory'
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer 'Fair'
MAC Mineralised Skin Finish Natural 'Light'
Benefit Browzings 'Dark'
Bourjois Liner Clubbing 'Ultra Black'
Avon Infinitize Mascara
Bourjois Blush '34 Rose d'Or (Rose Gold)'
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Pencil 'Black Tulip'
Rimmel x Kate Moss Matte Lipstick '107'

With not having to drive to work anymore and being able to get there in less than 5 minutes, I actually have time to spend doing nice eye make up. However, every day I end up some how rushing around and actually having no time to do what I want on my face so this usually ends up how I look most days. It seems a lot of products to say I'm in a rush but I can get all this on my face in about 10/15 minutes if needs be.

Just moisturise and prime the skin then using a Buffing Brush for foundation and an Expert Face Brush to blend in concealer under my eyes (Wake Me Up) and on blemishes (Lasting Perfection). Then a quick fill of any sparse bits of the brow, I don't really need to spend time of shaping as the beloved fringe hides the fact that they really need plucking. Quick slick of eyeliner; generally no time to wing anything out as I can guarantee one will go wrong or I'll sneeze and it'll be all over my face. Then it's mascara time. Not a huge fan of this Avon one but it's nice just for everyday and not over the top lashes. And then I dust over some Mineralised Skin Finish where I'm a bit shiny and then do my lips. I haven't worn this colour in so long as it doesn't feel very summery but I have reignited my love for it. Then I realised I had about 30 seconds before I would be late so I just swiped a little bit of blush from a Bourjois Little Pot of Blush on my cheeks for a very subtle bit of colour.
AND DONE.

BLUE JEANS

A few weeks back I did a haul post and in it I said how I bought jeans. For anyone that knows me, this is major! I haven't worn jeans for years which is weird as I used to live in them. I have a pair of the Dorothy Perkins jeggings in black (that I would definitely recommend, by the way!) but I decided it was time to buy an actual pair of jeans and stray away from my comfort zone of black.
I opted for the infamous Topshop Leigh jeans and today we went out for a Sunday roast with it being Father's Day so this is what I wore...

Top; H&M | Jeans; Topshop | Necklace; Topshop | Shoes; H! by Henry Holland @ Debenhams

Very casual and easy outfit. It is Sunday after all. You're very lucky that I'm even out of bed!
I got the top as part of the same haul I got the jeans. This is the first time I've actually worn the top and I really love it. So relaxed and comfortable and I love the colour.
As for the jeans... They are so super soft and I don't think it is possibly to have skinnier jeans than there (which I love!). I'm also surprised at how much I love the colour on me. I do kind of wish I'd gone up a size so that I could wear them higher on my waist rather than them being on my hips but I'm sure I can deal with that!
I got the shoes about a month or so ago when Debenhams had one of there 20% off everything days. I used to have a pair similar from the H! collection but I wore them to death and they're covered in holes so when I saw these I just had to get them. I wasn't overly keen on the white ribbon details at first but I've grown used to them. They're just the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They are real leather so if you're not a fan of that, then I won't recommend them for you but if it doesn't bother you then you must own them!

Avon Speed Dry+ 'Vamp It'; Barry M Nail Art Pen 'White'

I know in the previous post I said that the Nail Rescue was making my nails long and I'm aware it doesn't seem it from this photo but you should have seen the state they used to be! Also, I broke two of them the other day which was painful!
I got this colour from Avon this week and I am in love with it. I probably didn't actually need another polish this colour but the formula of this is brilliant, it really does dry incredibly quick and so far, it is lasting really well. I have 2 coats on and it's a bit darker than the top, in real life. I love dark nails.
I originally just had vertical lines down each nail and then decided to be ker-razy and add horizontal ones too. I really like how it came out. Except on the other hand. How on earth do people do good nail art using their non-dominant hand?!
Give me your secrets!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder 'Transparent'
Benefit Brow-zings 'Dark'
MUA Eye Primer
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette 'W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint'
Avon Infinitize Mascara
Bourjois Cream Blush '03 Rose Tender'
Avon Lipstick 'Coral Connection'

Decided to mix together a BB cream and a foundation today. I'm not sure why for but I did. I used a little too much BB cream though and ended up very Oompa Loompa so I had to put my Buffing Brush to extreme use to make it actually match my skin tone. It's a good job I had a lot of time to get ready this morning!
I don't usually line under my eyes with any eyeshadow but I used 'Faint' from the Urban Decay Naked Basics and I really like how it looks.
The mascara and lipstick are also new Avon purchases. I can't yet decide what my thoughts are on the mascara. It has made my bottom lashes nice but I don't feel it gives any volume or length to the top ones. I love the lipstick though! Such a beautiful red-orange which is a colour I don't have or usually go for.
You can't actually see it on the photo but I succumbed to the hype and bought one of the Bourjois Cream Blushes. I'm really loving it too and I think I may need the rest of them. The one I have is pretty pigmented so I have to try not to go too overboard!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend! And look at this, 3 posts in 3 days!! (And I have another lined up for tomorrow - woah there!)

CHEER UP, CHARLIE

On a typical Sunday I will wake up, get out of bed an hour later, have bacon butties, put a onesie on and stay in bed with my laptop watching films all day. And that is my favourite kind of Sunday.
Yesterday, I did do that but I felt really rubbish all day and started on a self-loathing trip which is never fun. So today I decided that even though I was going nowhere, I would put some nice makeup and clothes on even though I'm just sitting in the house watching Game of Thrones.

Blouse; Dorothy Perkins | Skirt; Miss Selfridge | Cardigan; ASOS | Shoes; Primark | Vest top (worn underneath); Dorothy Perkins

I'm pretty much in love with this skirt right now. It's really difficult trying not to grab this everytime I go to get dress in the morning. I also dug out this blouse this morning. I got it from Dorothy Perkins last summer and I really don't give it enough love. The flowers on it remind me of a dress I had about 15 years ago that I was in love with.
I've had this cardigan a couple of months now but I've basically lived in it since I got it. It's from ASOS and it's so comfy. It kind of has the varsity feel to it with black outline down the front. It seemed silly buying it with summer coming up but of course England being England, we don't seem to be getting any nice weather.
The shoes are from Primark and they were £3 in the sale. My Primark had a tonne of them so hopefully everywhere is the same because I really like them. I didn't own any black everyday shoes which seemed silly and I stopped buying Primark shoes a while ago because they just fell to pieces but these feel a bit better quality than they have been previously. Although, after a 9 hour day at work in them, my feet are quite achy..!

Sleek Au Naturel Palette 'Toast, Taupe, Bark, Noir'
Natual Collection Eyeshadow 'White'
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner '005 Nude'
Benefit They're Real! Mascara
Benefit Bad Gal Mascara
ELF Blush 'Giddy Gold'
ELF Healthy Glow Bronzer 'Matte Bronze'
ELF Matte Lip Color 'Coral'

I was really keen to use my new ELF products today, as you can probably tell. The lip colour is definitely more nude than coral but I quite like it. It's a bit too nude I think so I may have to mix it with a pink or something.
The blush is nice. I haven't really decided yet. I accidentally put too much on the blush and had to blend like crazy.
The bronzer doesn't seem to pick up much product on my brush but I think this is probably a good thing for just getting a subtle contour and not getting a brown line down my face.
I used the Flat Eyeliner Brush to line the lash line using the Noir colour from the Sleek palette. Really like this brush! Much easier to line with than the others I have.
As for my eyes, I really like this Sleek palette but I decided to play with some colours I don't usually use (besides 'Bark'). I'm very much a "matte makeup" girl but I used 'Toast' and 'Taupe' together to get a nice golden, shimmery look and then I put 'Bark' through the crease. I really like it actually. Definitely need to start straying from my comfort zone a little bit more.
Also, did not realise what a good job this mascara actually did! Everyone and their cat seemed to have picked up ELLE magazine with the free mini sample in however, I bought the sample size from Boots a few weeks before I knew ELLE was doing this. Very annoying to say the least! Especially as I didn't think it was even that great before seeing this photo. It is an absolute pain to take off though and I get a horrible 'spiders leg' look if I put it on my bottom lashes so I have to use Bad Gal for those.

I feel a lot better today and I think dressing up may have helped. Well that tied with a brilliant Game of Thrones episode and buying Les Mis on DVD...
Hope all you guys are feeling fine and dandy!
xx

POLKA DOTS + BOWLER HATS

Today is my only day off this week and I've spent it baking cookies and watching Disney films with one of my best friends. The best kind of day, if you ask me.

Dungaree dress; Jameela Jamil for Very | Shirt; Primark | Bowler hat; eBay
Nails; Maybelline Color Show 'Latte', Barry M Gelly Hi Shine 'Prickly Pear', Barry M 'Black'

I've been ogling this dress from the Jameela Jamil Very collection since it was released. I decided to just buy it last week and so glad I did. It fits so well and it's so different to my usual outfits. It fits in nice with the current monochrome trend but giving it a little twist too. The shape of the bottom of the dress gives a nice 60's feel and the dungaree/pinafore dress seems to be everywhere at the moment!
I bought the shirt yesterday from Primark for £9! They had a few other colours. Been after a white shirt for a while and I knew I'd definitely need one for this dress. I guess when it's hotter (hopefully!) I'll be able to wear it without...
The hat... ah, I'm in love. My friend was wearing a lovely one a few weeks back and then I knew I wanted one. I love hats but I don't feel I can pull them off. Now I have my fringe I feel I can a bit more. Topshop and the likes bowler hats are all around the £20 mark which is quite frankly ridiculous. My friend said she got hers on eBay so I had a nosey and with postage it was around £5! Bargain!

Decided to get a bit creative with my nails last night and I'm very impressed with myself. Only got a few little smudges but I think a decent first attempt. I've ordered some dotting tools from eBay too which will (I hope) make me get better at doing nail art seeing as that seems to be the thing at the minute.

NEVER GROW UP

Two outfit posts in two days! Crazy!

I can't believe I haven't shown you this jumper/sweater/top (I don't really know what to class it as) yet. I got it a couple of weeks ago from River Island. River Island is a shop that I sometimes look in but I really don't like the way they merchandise and lay things out. Also, I've not been a huge fan of their clothes recently but I decided to pop in as it was quiet and there wasn't many people around and I'm so glad I did.

Jumper; River Island | Disco pants; Topshop

I can't find it on the River Island website and thinking about it, I've been in a couple of stores since buying it and I've not seen it in any other store. Unless it sold out just that quickly!
I spotted it in the corner and made a beeline for it. It cost £30 which put me off a little as well at first because I didn't know if I would actually get the wear out of it but I went to try it on over the dress I was wearing and thought it looked too cute to put back on the rail.

Please excuse the fitting room mirror photo!

I've already worn it way too much and I'm going to see Disney on Ice (again...) in a few weeks that I'll think I'll have to don it for. I'm clearly always going to be a child at heart.

I know that the majority of the outfit posts I do are of me in disco pants but these are new ones! My Glamorous ones seemed to be thinning a bit and I wasn't liking them that much. Then I saw the Topshop ones and the quality and thickness is a lot better and closer to the American Apparel ones. And already over wearing these ones too...

SHE BANGS

I probably could have come up with a slightly better post title..! Haha! But it was the first thing that came in to my head.

So, a few days a go I only went and got myself a fringe cut in. (You geddit? Bangs is American for 'fringe'! Oh the humour you get on Laddered Tights!)
Now, I've had the same hairstyle for practically my whole life. We are ignore the time when I was around 9 and got a short bob. I have really bad head sore so I don't ever tie my hair up or even brush it all that often. I also have the dreaded cowlick on each side of my head. They used to be really quite bad but I've somehow managed to tame them a little over the last couple of years.
I came home the other day and started playing with my hair and just decided I wanted a fringe and then I realised that it would probably be difficult with said cowlick. I googled for a long time and the next day I ask my hairdressers opinion and she told me to wash my hair just before I left the house and she'd be able to see how it'd go.

Lucky for me, it has been a success!

I'm really please with how it turned out. I'm still at the stage where I keep combing it and constantly checking it looks okay and is sitting right. It just feels so strange having something on my forehead all the time.

Thought I may as well give you a little outfit post whilst the camera was out. I think today's look is very "sleek, chic goth".
I couldn't for the life of my get a decent photo of the collar detail but you can see if better on the photo above.

Shirt; Forever 21 | Skirt; Topshop | Belt; ASOS | Ring; Forever 21 | Earrings; Primark | Nails; Avon Nailwear Pro 'Romance' & Models Own 'Ibiza Mix'

I love this shirt so much. I got it at the weekend when I took a trip down to Birmingham. I think it was £18.75 so pretty decent! Been after a plain black shirt with a collar that wasn't sheer for so long. Would have preferred no collar detailing really but I couldn't find any other and they look easy enough to remove if I get bored of them.
The belt was on my wishlist post that you can see here. It goes with practically everything I own so definitely worth the money.

Make up I'm wearing today:

Dainty Doll foundation 'Very Light' & Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation '103 True Ivory' (mixed together)
Garnier Roll On
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer '1 Fair'
No7 Blemish Fix Concealer 'Fair'
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder '001 Transparent'
Benefit Brow-zings 'Dark'
MUA Clear Mascara
MUA Eye Primer
Sleek Au Naturel Palette: 'Nubuck', 'Bark', 'Noir'
L'Oréal Telescopic Mascara 'Black/Noir'
Sleek Contour Kit 'Light'
ELF Blush 'Peachy Keen'
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Pencil '063 Black Tulip'
Sleek Matte Lipstick 'Vamp'

I've been off work for the last week so I've been able to watch a lot of London Fashion Week live streams which has been fun. Not as much fun as actually being there, I guess. But alas! There will most likely be a post on Wednesday (hopefully) of my favourite collections. I've already got a decent sized list that I'm trying to whittle down.

BACK TO BLACK

The other week I posted this outfit post. I love colour and I love seeing people being experimental with colour and I do try to add a bit of colour into my life but the inner goth always gets the better of me and I just wear black (and dark colours) all the time. That being said, this is a very dull outfit post but anyway...

Crop top; H&M | Disco Pants; Glamorous | Necklace; Topshop | Rings; H&M

I spent ages looking for a black crop top last week. In my head I knew what I wanted it to be like and this wasn't actually it but it ended up being the only one I liked. However, it is a size 16 but I really like how it looks teamed with the disco pants. Also, it was about a fiver so no big loss!
As for the disco pants, I love these Glamorous dupes but the other day I saw the proper American Apparel ones and they feel so nice! So much thicker and I WANT! I didn't try them because I knew I would buy them and I'm not sure I can justify £74 for them. But so very tempting.
I couldn't for the life of me get a decent photo of the rings on my hand so sorry about this shoddy excuse for a photo. The rings came in this pack of 5 for £3.99 in H&M. There's 3 metallic ones and 2 matte ones and they vary in size. I love them! They come in silver/chrome too. So nice for making a plain outfit look a bit more interesting and an absolute bargain too! Much cheaper than the ones I posted in this wishlist.

Face of the day time!
And apologies for the crazy eyes that I have going on...
