SUNDAY LOVING #5

The Sunday Post is back this week! It's been a long, tiring but all round lovely week off work. Monday o Thursday was spent in London, Friday we had a takeaway and Disney Trivial Pursuit night ('cos we are oh so cool...) and yesterday we headed to Manchester for TGI's and a few drinks. So I'm pretty happy to be spending all day in my bed with copious amounts of tea. Not so thrilled about having to go back to work tomorrow though.

MUSIC

Whilst in London we went to see The Book of Mormon. I didn't actually have any clue what it was really about but I knew a couple of my friends love it so I really wanted to see it myself. It is genius and the soundtrack got downloaded as soon as I was home and I can't stop listening to it already.

WHAT'S IN MY TRAVEL MAKEUP BAG?

This week I spent a few days in London. It was first ever time going there and I was so excited and it was wonderful. I'm going to do a post about it all next week with some of my photos. But today, here's the beauty bits I packed to take with me for the few days I was there...

A LITTLE BOOTS HAUL

Thought I'd leave the Sunday Loving post for this week. It's been a bit of a quiet one and I had a cheeky little peruse of Boots yesterday so I thought I'd show you what I bought.

I went to Boots as I needed dry shampoo and deodorant because I'm going to London for a few days tomorrow! (P.s. never been before, please leave me any tips or recommendations of what I should do!) Now, I could have gone to Tesco or even the tiny Boots that would take me 5 minutes to walk to. I didn't do this. Instead I drove for 25 minutes to the biggest one that's near me...

REVIEW: ZOEVA BRUSHES

A month or so ago I bought a couple of Zoeva brushes from POM Shop. I've heard a lot about Zoeva brushes from the online blogging community and they've been given a lot of hype as well as being reasonably priced so I decided to try them out.

I got the 102 Silk Finish Face Brush and the 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush. For a while I've been after another buffing style brush so i can wash my real techniques one a bit more often. I've really been enjoying using the 102 for buffing foundation. It's a lot more dense than the Real technique Buffing Brush - probably some way in between that and their Expert Face Brush. I definitely prefer this to the Expert Face (I really don't get on with that all that much) and I've kind of abandoned the Buffing Brush since buying the 102.
I have also been after a decent contour brush. I think being honest, I'm never gonna get the hang of contouring no matter what brush I used but I felt a tapered brush must help some way to making it seem like I've done an okay job. I picked the 127 and I really like this too. it picks up just the right amount of product, applies and blends nicely for the right amount of definition.

These brushes are super soft and wash pretty well. The 127 ended up with a few "fly away" bristles, as you can see in the photos, but nothing that hinders the brush quality. The prices are pretty decent too. The 102 is £8.50 and 127 is £10.50. Pretty keen to try out more now even though I probably don't need any more brushes now...

Have any of you tried Zoeva brushes? What do you think of them?

SUNDAY LOVING #4

We didn't intend on staying up for the England match last night but we did end up doing and so a late night to bed meant I only woke up at 11.30 this morning and it feels good!

MUSIC

I've had this album since the day it came out and I haven't mentioned it yet on one of these posts but I really want to. I love Lily Allen. Always have and always will. I was so upset when she said she wouldn't be making another album a few years back. Her lyrics are brilliant, so tongue in cheek and sassy and just great pop songs. So I was thrilled when she did come back and this album is wonderful! I love every song particularly Yours Insincerely, Our Time, Hard Out Here and As Long As I've Got You.
Definitely give this a listen if you need some good, upbeat songs for your summer playlist.

THE MID-WEEK PAMPER

A few months ago I posted about the Sunday Night Pamper Session and this is something I do every single week (I think that post may need an update too now...) I find it so enjoyable to just properly clean my face and be left feeling fresh with lovely, soft skin.
During the week, obviously I have a skincare routine but it's pretty scaled down from a Sunday. I'll do a makeup removal cleanse, then the double cleanser, toner, some kind of spot treatment then either night cream or oil. Done.
As it gets to the middle of the week things are starting to look a bit dull so around a Wednesday/Thursday I like to give my skin a little extra treat for a pick me up by adding in a couple extra products...

UNSUNG HEROES: GOOD THINGS FIVE MINUTE FACIAL FACE MASK

Time for another Unsung Hero from my beauty stash. I explained in the first post here that these are products that I completely love using but never give them any public love. Now today's product I actually did a full review about a year ago but I've since repurchased it and I use it all the time but haven't given it nearly enough love.

SUNDAY LOVING #3

Hope you've all had a great week. The weather has been so lovely this weekend. I spent yesterday afternoon at the park and then a BBQ in the evening with friends.
