SEPTEMBER GLOSSYBOX

This week has been long and stressful and I've been feeling totally "meh" but I got home from work, ready to chill for the weekend and saw that this months Glossybox has arrived and got incredibly excited.
It's only through writing this post that I've realised I skipped blogging about last months box. I can't exactly remember why but I know it didn't exactly blow me away. To be honest, everything except the eyelash curlers (which are really great!) are still in the box. Oops...

But take a look at September's offering!

The September Glossybox is "The London Edition" with London Fashion Week having kicked off today (come back next week for my round up on that!) and this box is so far up my street, it's ridiculous. To start with, the actual box itself... I am still a sucker for anything with the Union flag on it. I feel that trend may have been and gone but I love it. I really like the Glossyboxes that are different from the usual pink ones, because I like storing things in them and it's nice having different ones for different things.

And the contents..!

You pay £10 plus postage for these boxes and with what is in mine this month, I have got a super bargain.
First up is the Eyelure Pre-glued Lashes. I'm not a false eyelash wearer. My lashes are fairly long and curled naturally so I don't feel I need them. I have tried them once before and had a super fail. I'm looking forward to trying these though and seeing how I get on with pre-glued ones. And Eyelure are known for being giants in the false eyelashes world so high hopes for them.
Next up is a Classic Shine Gloss Serum from Toni & Guy. Another giant in their field of work and I've never tried any of their products so again, looking forward to trying this.
The eyeliner is from a brand I've never heard of... Be A Bombshell Cosmetics. I'm guessing it's American as the leaflet that gives the product descriptions says the eyeliner retails at $14! It's one of the felt tip pen type eyeliners in the shade Onyx. I am never a fan of these eyeliner types. I find they're never black enough and they just don't last. But I tested this on my hand and I was quite impressed so I'm excited to give it a whirl tomorrow. There will no doubt be a review in the future.
The item I'm most excited about being in the box is the blusher from HD Brows. Now, I know about HD Brows, though never having tried them, but I was actually aware they had a wider make up range. The shade of the blusher is "Blusher 2" and is a lovely burnt rose colour. It's a full sized product and costs £17.95 so I'm really chuffed with that and hopefully it lives up to expectation.
Finally, a perfume sample. I got a perfume sample in the last box but it was just in one of the teeny tubes. This is one that's in those mini bottles. It's called Untold by Elizabeth Arden and it's actually a very pretty scent. I'm rubbish at describing perfume smells but this isn't something I would usually go for, but I am pleasantly surprised. My mum really likes it too though so I may find that it might end up going missing...

JULY GLOSSYBOX

This morning I received my Glossybox for this month and I am absolutely loving it! This is the last of my 3 month subscription and this box alone is making me renew.
The theme this month is "Seaside Splash" and with this insanely nice weather, it has come at a perfect time.

First impressions... the actual box itself is beautiful. I will definitely be finding something to store in this, maybe nail varnish or something. The tissue paper is lovely too. I am a sucker for pretty packaging!
On to the contents..!

First is a Facial Spritz by Anatomicals and is a full sized product. It's going to be going in my handbag for the entire time the weather is as hot and sticky as it currently is. These facial spritz are great for just giving your skin a bit of rehydration during the day and this also says it can be used over make up to set it, like the MUA setting spray I have. I sprayed it earlier and it has a really lovely but subtle fragrance to it. It says it contains lavender and peppermint.

Next up is a texture Mist by Alterna Haircare which, is a brand I haven't actually heard of. I recently was given a L'Oreal salt spray that I have been really enjoying using so I'm excited to try this. I don't dry my hair, I just leave it to naturally dry and the salt spray I'm using every few washes has been giving me a nice wavy look so we shall see how this compares. Maybe I can do a comparison post for you!

The product I am definitely most excited by is the Ciaté paint pot. Again this is a full sized product and retails at £9 and I have wanted to try one of these for so long after seeing everyone rave about them but the price tag is crazy for a nail varnish and they aren't so readily available where I live either. I got the shade "Pocket Money" which is a kind of peachy, dark nude (because I really needed more nude nail polish...) but lets see if they live up to the hype.

The final two items are both little sample sizes and the first is a Pukka Ayurveda Radiance Serum. I don't have any serums in my skin care routine at the moment so it will be interesting to see if this makes any positive difference. The directions say to apply a thin layer before moisturising to brighten the complexion.
And lastly is a Coola Mineral Sunscreen. It says it's a tinted moisturiser but it also contains SPF 20, which is wonderful! The colour seems a bit darker than my skin tone but it also seems like it's quite easily blended down so this may come in quite useful when I just cannot be bothered with foundation in this heat.


I am now off to renew my Glossybox subscription! Very happy with this box.

JUNE GLOSSYBOX

Sorry for being pretty quiet on the blogging front. A mixture of starting a new job, being really unwell and shamefully not having any decent blog ideas. I do have a "Five Product Face" post I want to do but I am feeling really unwell at the moment so I don't look all that great!

This morning my Glossybox for this month arrived. I received my very first one last month and loved it so I had high hopes for this one.

First thing in the box was the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR. I've heard all the big beauty bloggers talking about Nuxe previously so this was a bit exciting. It's essentially an oil that can be used on the face, body and hair and it had gold particles through it making it add a bit of a summer glow. I didn't really get on with the oil in the previous box so hopefully this will work better for me.

Next was a Helen É Shimmer Eye Powder in the shade 26 which is a lovely midnight blue colour. I'm not usually one for colour on the eyes; definitely a neutral kinda gal! But looking forward to playing with this somehow.

I also got a lip balm by Figs & Rougue in Cherry Blossom. I have actually used this today and I love it! The smell is beautiful and it has a slight tint to it to add a little colour (which is helping me look a little less like death.)

I then got the Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15. I'm really into trying different skincare at the moment and you cannot beat a good moisturiser so I'm really hoping that good things will come from this. It claims to blur imperfections and correct skin tone and the fact that it contains SPF and Vitamin E so all that sounds like a winner to me.

The final product was a Long Lasting Nail Gloss by MeMeMe. I've never actually used any of their products before but I've read a lot of good reviews so hopefully this will live up to that expectation. I got it in the colour Graceful which is a sort of off white colour.

Overall, another box I'm pleased with from first look. Excited to try everything out and hope they work for me!

MY FIRST GLOSSYBOX

This month Glossybox celebrated it's 2nd birthday and for pretty much all of two years, I've been wanting to try it out and see what the fuss was about. If you don't know what Glossybox is, then it's a monthly beauty box that costs around £10 and in it you get 5 samples (sometimes full sizes) of beauty products including hair care, skin care and make up. There's often higher end products in too making the price worth it.
I decided to just take the plunge and I ordered a 3 month subscription (for the time being) as it works out a bit cheaper and my box arrived this week...

In my box I got a full size mascara from Jelly Pong Pong. I've never heard of the brand so excited to try it out, as if I don't already have enough mascaras on the go..!
Then there's L'Occitane En Provence Angelica Hydration Cream... sounds posh! It seems to basically be a moisturiser but my skin seems to be getting dry recently so hopefully this will work a bit of magic.
There's a mini pot of Prime & Create Mixing Medium which seems intriguing. It can be used as just a primer or you can mix with powder makeup products to create a more cream finish. Never heard of anything like that before!
I also got a Headlines Colours nail polish in a beautiful pale lilac colour. I think this is a new brand and they seem to retail at £9 at normal price. Also, I've recently got really into painting my nails so pretty happy about this.
I think my favourite thing in the box is the Caudalíe Divine Oil that can be used on the face, body and hair. I've been using Argan Oil in my hair for a while now and I'm just about to run out so I'm excited to see how this compares.
There was also an extra gift of a load of little nail files that will definitely come in handy.

Overall pretty impressed with my first Glossybox and I'm excited to use all my new goodies!
